What is your new patient procedure?

We will conduct a free 15 minute consultation. We will schedule the first appointment. During the first appointment, you will fill out an intake form. The clinician will conduct informal assessments. Next steps will be discussed at the end of the session.

Does my insurance cover speech therapy?

Since We Talk BKLYN does not accept insurance, we recommend that you call your insurance (the number behind your medical card) to learn more about your out of pocket speech and language coverage.

What questions should I ask my insurance company?

In order to understand your out of pocket speech therapy coverage, you should ask your insurance the following questions:

  • What is my out of pocket speech therapy coverage?

  • Do I have to pay a deductible before service are covered?

  • How much is my deductible?

  • How many sessions am I allowed in a calendar year? 

  • Do I get reimbursed for the speech services? 

  • When do I have to file my claim for reimbursement?

  • Which CPT codes are eligible for telepractice?

  • Which modifiers and place of service codes should be used to indicate services were delivered via telepractice?

  • How do I submit a claim?

  • What documents do I need in order to submit a claim?

  • How long does it take to receive my reimbursement? 

What documentation do I need from We Talk BKLYN to submit a claim?

We talk BKLYN will provide documentation via email that you may submit with your claim. This documentation is similar to a receipt. It will contain the following information​:

  • Date of the service

  • Rate of the session

  • CPT code

  • ICD-10 code

  • Modifier

  • Place of service code

  • Speech Therapist's Information
